*TUNE IN TO NBC (channel 7) AT 6PM TONIGHT!* to watch my NATVO/SOTVO.
Today, we started by doing raising the satellite which is still broken (I wish I knew that before I spent three minutes of my life holding the button down). We ended up doing our live shot via the Dejero at the San Diego International Airport. A lot of people were stuck there due to the bad weather on the East Coast. Philadelphia, New York City, and Baltimore weren't even listed on the board because those airports are shut down.
Later, we were assigned our piece for the day. We went to a fair that was to support human trafficking awareness and prevention. They had a booth where people pledge to never buying sex. There were a lot of survivors there who shared their story. When we got back to the editing hub, Enrique ingested the video while Liz wrote the script. After those were completed, Enrique told me to start editing. At first, I was asking approval for every clip that I thought about using. He told me to do it however I wanted and that we would go over it together when I was done. He was very patient in waiting for me to create something that he could have done in half the time. In the end, he only found a couple of edits that would improve the Natural Voice Over (NATVO)/Sound on Tape Voice Over (SOTVO).
Enrique's philosophy is that you can only learn by doing it. He also let me film some of the B roll. We only ended up using one of my clips because I didn't get the light settings right. Today I learned that if I were to become a camera(wo)man, I will be really buff. Why? Because the equipment is heavy!
